The USM Foundation Programme is a pre-university programme designed to prepare students for undergraduate studies at the tertiary level.
Applicants who have completed O-Level, or equivalent qualifications may apply, subject to the prevailing entry requirements. USM reserves the right to amend the entry requirements from time to time.
The programme is generally completed within one academic year (two semesters), subject to the academic calendar and programme structure.

Yes, students must meet the English language proficiency requirement as part of the program completion criteria. If a student does not meet the required English standard, the university may require them to enroll in Intensive English classes, which are offered as a fee-based program.
Yes. International applicants eligible to apply, subject to academic, visa, and immigration requirements.
Yes. The student must stay in the hostel throughout the entire foundation study period and must obey all hostel rules and regulations.
Currently, students are not eligible to apply for programmes offered by the School of Medical Sciences, School of Dentistry, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Educational Studies, and the Bachelor of Accounting programme. The list of excluded programmes may be revised from time to time.
Transfer eligibility is subject to the policies and recognition requirements of the receiving institution.
Graduates of the USM APEX Foundation Programme are not eligible to apply for undergraduate admission through the UPU channel.
Yes. Students who successfully complete the Foundation Programme may apply for relevant USM undergraduate programmes through the USM+1 admission channel, subject to the applicable entry requirements and programme availability. Applicants are advised to refer to the official admission portal for the latest requirements.
Admission is subject to the programme entry requirements, seat availability, foundation stream, and the student’s academic performance.
No. Fees are payable on a semester basis, and full payment must be made within the first week of the semester.
Yes. The Centre will coordinate and manage all student visa application matters for Foundation Programme.
Airport pickup services may be arranged upon prior request and confirmation.
